About the Collection

I first visited the Llŷn Peninsula in North Wales when I was 2 weeks old & have been back every year since. It holds a very special place in my heart, full of happy memories, family traditions & brilliant adventures which I continue with my own children today.

The Peninsula is largely untamed & unspoilt from mountain to coastline & so rich with diverse life. Skies full of birds, shores full of shells, seas full of fish, hedgerows full of butterflies & clifftops full of wildflowers. The sky & sea are endlessly changing with incredible light, clouds, reflections, colour and sparkles shifting through the day from bright shining sun to misty sea fret.

The inescapable slower pace of life & living in harmony with nature draws me back again and again. A friend recently told me the Welsh term for this 'Hiraeth' which loosely translates as the intrinsic pull of a place and the feeling it creates. I feel the hiraeth!

Where the land meets the sea & the sea meets the sky is where I love to be most. The Llŷn was an obvious muse for my debut collection of paintings & prints. Broad brush strokes echo a childlike sense of awe & wonder. A palette of playful colours express the joy found in my favourite places. I hope this collection of paintings evoke all the good feelings & transport you to a very special place on the coast.
