From Emily's Journal
"Abersoch just wouldn't be whole without the presence of the iconic St Tudwal's islands, a small archipelago sitting just off the bay. Accessible only by boat and home to seabirds, seals and explorers, these green domes represent intrigue and adventure to me. I have fond childhood memories of fishing, cliff jumping and swimming around these famous landmarks, surrounded by crying gulls and the occasional grey seal; head popping up through the swell. Now strictly off limits and admired from afar, the lighthouse sits a top the west island as a grand focal point overseeing the nautical goings on of fisherman, sailors and sea faring folk. A tradition of ours is to motor to Carreg y Trai or 'Half Tide Rocks' which sit just behind the east island hosting numerous fuzzy grey seals lazily drying out in the sun. After enjoying a flask of tea and a piece of cake, its time to head back to the islands for dolphin spotting and a wild swim in a sheltered cove."
