"The Morfa Nefyn coastal walk is one of my favourites on the LLŷn. In the summer, whirling sand martins nest in the gigantic banks of exposed sand and clay sliced away by the sea. Soft, white beaches and the brightest turquoise water could easily trick the eyes into believing it was the Caribbean rather than North Wales. Picturesque in the extreme, Yr Eifl (The Rivals) can be seen standing proudly across the bay, merging into Nefyn. The winding path, alluringly close to the waters edge leads past verges of wild flowers to the lifeboat beach which is the last chance of a swim before climbing up to the windswept clifftop. There are often grey seals bobbing in the water at the end of the point. We call them Silkies and sing to them if no-one is nearby."
